Research Overview

Research contents and objectives

Based on the gilled mushrooms survey, we choose the important group to carry out comprehensively molecular phylogenetic and DNA barcoding researches.  In the phylogenetic research, multigene are used in analysis, furthermore, the DNA data from fossil mushrooms are introduced to calibrate the age of each monophyletic lineages and the divergent time is introduced as an important critical to set a taxonomic system.  During this process, we follow a basic science logic, which the same taxonomic rank should be divergent in the similar time; and the higher rank should be older than those of younger rank.  Finally a natural taxonomic system on those important groups would be established. We will re-recognize the species concept in phylogenetic view, discovery new species and other ranking taxa, new taxonomic systems, new DNA barcoding genes, and all of those would be contribute to improve mushrooms cultivation industry of China too.
